Excellent lunch menu! Cheap eats served fresh. How can you beat .99$ margaritas? The lunch portions were large and served sizzling hot with corn tortillas too hot to handle. I bet you could get spicier food if you requested it. Fresh Pico desk Gallo and guacamole. My only suggestion is to have draft beer too.

I love Guero's! Great food, and FAST! Even when they are busy they are still on top of it. Not many places you can go and sit down on lunch break because it will take too long but Guero's you are in and out, love it!!

Our waitress was very nice, the food was excellent, we went in at 3 pm and no one was there we had the restaurant to ourselves. Owned by a husband and wife, both of which spoke to us, we will be back soon.

I LOVE Guero's!! I'm in there at least three times a week. All of their food is amazing. I always order their Casero guacamole, chili rellano or fajita salad. I'm also an event planner so I try to serve Guero's whenever possible. The owners are some of my favorite people as well. I don't know what I would do without them!!!

Great little Mexican restaurant downtown on the square. Recommend a person skip the chain restaurants on the interstate and head downtown. Only about 5 minutes from I-17

This place is awesome. If I can I eat there many times a month. They have great food and accommodations if you need a special request that day. The tacos and fajitas are my favorites. Added bonus they have great desserts, be sure and ask if they have any not on the menu. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. I have never left unsatisfied.

Had been a good place to go experience. Good service staff. You always thought they are trying their best. My wife worked in the restaurant biz and this was our go- to. Have complete lost faith in them. SAD

Excellent food ...service and atmosphere EVERY SINGLE TIME. We love it there. Delish. The meat nachos are my fav while hubby loves quite a few other dishes. Queso cheese is the BEST!

The spicy chicken on the beach is beyond amazing. Super friendly staff and quick service. Definitely recommend to anyone near by!!!!

Been trying to order food from there for pick up when I get off work and they never answer phone, the food is ok if you can get it that is I'm done trying to get food from this place since they don't want to answer phone and are rude if they ever do

Food was great, best in town. Staff was great. The restaurant vibe was the only reason its not 5 star. I was not comfortable their but it could have been due to the others in there. It's kind of dark and drabby.

This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in southern Illinois. Hadn’t heard of it till we saw it on channel 3 news a few weeks ago. Decided to make the trip up from Herrin today and boy was it ever worth the drive. Everything we had was so delicious and the salsa is the best we’ve had anywhere.

I am so confused about this place. I was raised in Southern Texas. I am a big critic when it comes to Mexican food. I completely understand it is November 2 and the lady wanted to decorate for Christmas, BUT come on you need Mexican decorations! Not 1 sombrero! Santa, garland, snowmen, and Merry Christmas all over. So now the food. Cheese dip was watery. Salsa was definitely not the best but not the worst. Food was hot but again not the best. Yes, I understand this is Illinois and to not expect much. Sadly I've been wanting to come here for a while. Now I won't be back.

Not the kind of guy to do many reviews, but decided to on this local Mexican restaurant. Took the family here for the first time last night and was truly impressed!!! Everything was excellent, from the food, service and pricing. We all had something different off the menu and all agreed food was authentic and delicious. Our waitress “Michelle” was very knowledgeable and courteous and took great care of us! And for a family of 4 to have a outstanding meal for under $50 is unheard of these days. Keep up the good work & you’ll be seeing a lot more of us!!!

Delicious Food, Friendly Service, Great Drinks!

Had the shrimp tacos for lunch. Good flavor. Sister did paella and my brother in law had the fajitas. Definitely going back.

I had the Mi Fajitas and it was hands down the best fajitas I have had from anywhere in the world. Service was top notch and everything was reasonably priced. I will return anytime I visit Mt Vernon.

This Mexican restaurant is my fav it is on 9th Street downtown my fav there is the chicken on the beach it is chicken rice and Caso chesse

Can’t say enough good about this place. One of our favorite places to go eat. Whether it’s lunch , or dinner it’s always a great experience. The food is delicious, the workers and the owners are awesome. It’s always a great experience. And if you like margaritas my wife highly recommends the Cadillac margarita.

Ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes for our order to be taken with several waitresses walking by. A new waitress came up and filled our drinks and chips, took our order and was extremely friendly. She brought us 2 appetizers and apologized for the wait. Her attitude and friendliness has more than made up for the initial negative experience and the food has been delicious.

The service is always great! Food is wonderful! The margaritas are the best around! And the ambiance they created with their outdoor seating is wonderful!
